Brykerwoods is situated about 4 miles north of downtown Austin. Many Brykerwoods houses were built largely in the 1940's and 1950's, though some have been built since 2000. Houses range from as small as 1,200 square feet to as large as 3,000. It is bound by Mopac to the West, 35th street to the north, Lamar (largely) to the east, and Westover to the south. The neighborhood is a walkable community with much closeby retail, tree-lined streets and many cape cod and ranch-style houses. though developments in recent years have seen builders putting in some
larger, newer homes.
The neighborhood is bisected by Shoal Creek Park, a popular area for walkers and cyclists. 35th street, which borders the area to the east, is home to many restaurants and popular stores. This makes Brykerwoods a good walking community. Brykerwoods is on a direct bus route that connects it with downtown Austin. The neighborhood contains a few subdivisions; you may see names like Edgemont, Woods, and Pemberton Heights in your search.
