Formally established Greenbelts include the Barton Creek Greenbelt, the Shoal Creek Greenbelt, and the Bull Creek Greenbelt. Additionally, many properties back to green "space" that is created either by a designated easement or a dry creek, while others back to parts of the Balcones Canyonland preserve or large private lots. Only those areas that are pretected preseve, greenbelt, or dry creeks (unbuildable) are assured to remain green space.
