Rosedale, Austin, TX is a charming, popular north central neighborhood 5 miles north of downtown Austin. Rosedale has tree-lined streets and was designed in a grid form. Rosedale houses are characteristic of those built in the 1920s and 1930's, with broad front porches and wide windows. Many have been remodeled in the past 15-20 years, and others have been razed to make way for new homes.
Rosedale is largely considered one of the most charming neighborhoods in Austin for its true walkability and quiet streets. It is most popular with young singles and couples, and is largely a progressive neighborhood. It has a very active neighborhood association. It is popular for its walking distance to the shops at the corner of 45th and Burnet as well as its proximity to major transportation. Rosedale is on a major busline with access to downtown.
